L’espace entre les personnes

2020. Nantes, France.

‘L’espace entre les persones’ explores interpersonal relationships, using the space existing between our bodies as a metaphor for these bonds.

This installation seeks to materialise this space in order to re-signify it as something that, far from keeping us apart, connect us. Thus, this materialisation of the spaces - interpersonal bonds aims to question the fallacy of individuality that is so prevalent nowadays under the premise that we are always connected to others.

The installation currently comprises two pieces but is open to further development.

The first piece, made in situ, consists of wooden planks attached to the wall and painted in its same colour, in such a way that the work merges with its surroundings, symbolising the presence of these bonds in every environment.

The second piece, made of clay, represents the space between two bent arms. This is the first of a series of sculptures, open to further development, that materialise the space between people in a three-dimensional way, resulting in moulds or imprints of moments of connection.
